Things are getting a bit crazy in the last few days before we blast off for Bonaire. Donna and I are trying to tie up loose ends at work and Alex is busy preparing for a battery of tests at school.

Sparky, our Westie dog, is clueless about our leaving and so has not had his anxiety attack yet. We hope he won't freak out when he sees the suitcases being packed.

There is a short review of the Canon G10 on www.dpreview.com I had a chance to use it this past weekend and I am very pleased with the results. Hopefully it will do as well on the reef. Here is what it looks like.

Canon makes a very affordable underwater housing for this camera. Here is a picture of the whole rig, minus the camera which I used to take the picture.

The strobe unit is a “slave” type, which means that it will use the cameras internal flash to trigger. There is a fiber optic cable that converts the flash to an electric signal. I had to do a “mcgyver” on the grommet to get the fit right. Thank you Dremel! Here is what it looked like after surgery.

And here it is attached to the housing with Velcro.

That is all for now. Don’t forget to VOTE for me in the Survey!
